Antifreeze/Coolant Additive Packages METALGUARD A SERIES
WEBA Technology strives to stay at the forefront of additive development for the various types of antifreeze that are available on the market. In our laboratory, we develop formulas and techniques for making concentrated inhibitors that are mixed with ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerin, water or mixtures thereof to make finished antifreeze/coolants. Our additive packages allow the finished fluid manufacturer to make everything from automotive to heavy-duty diesel antifreeze, both conventional and extended life. All the WEBA Technology. METALGUARD A series antifreeze additive packages blend readily with glycol and provide the necessary corrosion prevention. The WEBA Technology line of antifreeze additive packages can be used with virgin or reclaimed glycols unless otherwise noted on the product data sheet.
Products are available in standard packaging including: 55-gallon / 208-liter drums; 275-gallon / 1041-liter totes, and bulk tank trucks. Ask WEBA technical staff for recommendations on blending instructions, dyes, colorants, bittering agents or other ingredients.

METALGUARD® A40
(Light Duty)
METALGUARD A40 extended life additive package for automotive/light duty applications. It utilizes a unique combination of organic acid technology (OAT). METALGUARD A40 meets ASTM D3306. It is recommended for all light-duty, automotive, extended life applications. Available with and without dye or in two colors of yellow, gold, orange or red.
METALGUARD® A65
(HOAT heavy,duty, precharged)
METALGUARD A65 is a fully-formulated, precharged extended life additive package that contains the initial charge of supplemental coolant additive (SCA). METALGUARD A65 is a hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT) additive system, containing both carboxylic acids and azoles/inorganic salts plus nitrite. METALGUARD A65 meets ASTM D6210, D4985 and D3306. Available with and without dye in orange, red or yellow, gold.
METALGUARD® A80
(OAT/Poly-Organic light and heavy-duty extended life for “global” formulations)
METALGUARD A80 is a light and heavy-duty all-organic additive package that allows you to make antifreeze meeting ASTM D6210, as well as ASTM D3306 and ASTM D4985. It does not contain any phosphate, silicate, borate, nitrate or nitrite. METALGUARD A80 meets the requirements of ASTM D6210 without nitrite or nitrite/molybdate, but still provides wet sleeve cylinder liner cavitation protection due to its unique formulation. Available without dye only.
METALGUARD® A85
(OAT heavy-duty extended life)
METALGUARD A85 Is an all-organic formulation, and does not contain any conventional inorganic salts, is free of nitrite, nitrate, silicate, phosphate and borate and contains no amines or 2-ethylhexanoic acid. It employs advanced multi-functional organic acid technology that combines three types of corrosion protection in one molecule, and uses this in combination with other organic di-acids and azoles. Antifreeze made with A85 meets ASTM D6210, as well as ASTM D3306 and ASTM D4985. This additive package may be used for both light and heavy-duty applications. Available without dye only.
METALGUARD® A90
(OAT/HOAT heavy-duty extended life with nitrite and molybdate)
METALGUARD A90 is an additive package, based on hybrid organic acid technology, that is used to make an extended life antifreeze/coolant meeting ASTM D6210, CAT ELC/EC-1, TMC of ATA RP 329, 330, 339 and SAE J1034. METALGUARD A90 is primarily a heavy-duty additive, but antifreeze/coolant made with it also meets ASTM D4985 and ASTM D3306. METALGUARD A90 combines two organic acid inhibitors with azoles, nitrite and molybdate. METALGUARD A90 is primarily used for heavy duty applications. Available without dye only.
METALGUARD® A70
(Light Duty)
This conventional additive package is formulated to meet ASTM D 3306 for automotive, SUV, light truck, van and other light-duty applications as well as ASTM D4985 for standard heavy-duty diesel use (SCA must be added after initial fill to meet D4985). METALGUARD A70 contains no silicates, phosphates or amines. Available with green dye or no dye (clear).
METALGUARD® A81
(Heavy-duty, precharged)
A fully-formulated, precharged additive package used primarily for the high-performance segment of the heavy-duty market. It is formulated to meet the requirements of ASTM D 6210 with a minimum nitrite content of 2400 ppm. It contains no phosphates or amines. It also meets ASTM D3306, ASTM D4985, ASTM D6210/11 and TMC of ATA RP 329/330. Available with green dye or no dye (clear).
METALGUARD® A65-EXT
METALGUARD A65-EXT is a ready-to use, extended life,heavy-duty, SCA precharged coolant booster. The booster or extender is used at half of the coolant’s life or 300,000 miles (480,000 kilometers) or 6,000 hours. Available without dye only.
METALGUARD® A80-EXT
METALGUARD A80-EXT is a ready-to use, extended life,heavy-duty, allorganic (OAT) Extender. The extender is used at half of the coolant’s life or 300,000 miles (480,000 kilometers for on-road service) or 6,000 hours for off-road service.
